Construction continues on the bridge deck and in-river piers near the New Westminster shoreline.
In Surrey, girder installation and deck panel installation is ongoing. Nighttime closures of 112/111a Avenue will be in effect from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. between September 9-11. During these closures, the 371 bus stop on 111a Avenue will be closed. Please check the TransLink Trip Planner for more information and updated schedules. During the week of September 9, there will be nighttime closures of Bridge Road between Old Yale Road and Musqueam Drive from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. Access to this area will be via 130 Street and Industrial Road.
Highway 17 eastbound traffic has been shifted onto the completed section of the Old Yale Road overpass, and all turning movements between Old Yale Road and Highway 17 eastbound have been permanently removed. Intermittent pile driving is underway for the construction of the westbound portion of the new Highway 17/Old Yale Road overpass.
Ongoing nighttime utility and road work near the Royal Avenue and McBride Boulevard intersection will continue intermittently for approximately two additional weeks.
Crews will also be located on Bridge Connector to conduct additional nighttime utility and road work just north of the Royal Avenue overpass. This work is planned to take approximately two weeks to complete.

During the first two weeks of July, Fraser Crossing Partners completed underground utility work on Agnes Street between Coburg Street and Dufferin Street. Crews will continue with drainage work and curb installation in this area for the remainder of the month into August. Single lane alternating traffic on Agnes Street will be in place during work hours to create space for work areas. Access to Coburg Street and Dufferin Street will be maintained at all times.

Construction of the new bridge deck is ongoing in Surrey with crews lifting concrete deck panels on top of steel girders between the main bridge and off-ramp foundations just east of the existing Pattullo Bridge. On July 19, Fraser Crossing Partners will require an overnight closure of the Pattullo Bridge in the northbound direction due to the proximity of the equipment that is required to install deck panels to the existing bridge in Surrey.

Starting at approximately 8 p.m. on Thursday, July 18, Fraser Crossing Partners will be performing an overnight concrete pour to complete the pier cap for the in-river bridge foundation near the New Westminster shoreline. The concrete pour will continue into the following morning.
Nearby residents may hear noise from concrete trucks and heavy equipment while work is underway. Concrete trucks will access the foundation throughout the duration of the pour using the temporary access platform from the New Westminster shoreline south of Front Street. To access the work area, concrete trucks will be using Royal Avenue, Columbia Street, and Front Street.

On June 17, a six-month full closure of Front Street between Begbie Street and E. Columbia Street was implemented to install steel girders and build the new bridge deck between the bridge foundation south of Columbia Street and the in-river foundation near the New Westminster shoreline.

In March, crews began installing underground utilities along Royal Avenue, McBride Boulevard, Columbia Street, and Bridge Connector within the Project area. This work will be ongoing into June. While this work is underway, one lane will remain open in each direction and a second lane may be closed intermittently, while Columbia Street remains closed between McBride Boulevard and Elliot Street until the end of May.
Temporary nighttime closures of local roads may also be required. Residents will be notified of any access restrictions in advance.

Starting Wednesday, September 11, Fraser Crossing Partners will begin building driveways for businesses and installing curbs and gutters along the east side of 112 Avenue (in front of the businesses).
Crews will also build a new sidewalk as part of the overall improvements for this area. This work is expected to take approximately three weeks to complete; however, it is weather dependent.

As part of the Pattullo Bridge Replacement Project, Highway 17 will be grade-separated over Old Yale Road, improving traffic flow on Highway 17. Construction of the eastbound portion of the new Old Yale Road overpass is nearly complete.
From Friday, July 26 at 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. on Monday, July 29, Highway 17 eastbound will be closed between Tannery Road and Bridgeview Drive for crews to complete the necessary roadwork before opening the eastbound portion of the new Old Yale Road overpass.

These deck panels will be placed on top of the girders to form the bridge deck and road closures are being implemented at night to minimize disruption to traffic:
Starting the week of May 6, intermittent nighttime closures on 112/111a Avenue will be in place between 7 p.m. and 5 a.m. for approximately three weeks.
Following work on 112/111a Avenue, intermittent directional closures of Highway 17 between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m. will be required, in addition to closures on 112/111a Avenue, Bridge Road, and Musqueam Drive between 7 p.m. and 5 a.m. Occasional full closures of Highway 17 in both directions will also be required. These closures will continue intermittently for approximately two months.
