New Westminster hours of work: Monday to Friday between 7 a.m. – 8 p.m., Saturday between 9 a.m. – 6 p.m.
Front Street truck route closure for approximately six months starting August 2026
Construction of the new multi-use paths ongoing
Starting the night of Saturday, July 25 for approximately 5 nights, crews will complete milling and top lift paving works on Columbia Street between McBride Boulevard and Elliot Street and the intersection of McBride and East Columbia. For approximately three nights starting Monday, July 27 crews will complete milling and top lift paving works on the East Columbia off-ramp.

Starting Thursday, July 16, crews will install concrete deck panels on the multi-use path overpass that crosses over the Royal Avenue on-ramp and Bridge Connector in New Westminster. To complete this work, for approximately one week overnight closures of the Royal Avenue on-ramp will be required between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m., and lane closures of Bridge Connector will also be required between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m..

A southbound lane closure will be in effect on the stal̕əw̓asəm Bridge on Saturday, July 4 and Sunday, July 5 from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. for crews to conduct bridge finishing works. One southbound lane and two northbound lanes of traffic will be maintained at all times.

On Wednesday, July 1, Fraser Crossing Partners will conduct urban node construction works at the Agnes Street and Hastings Street intersection. To complete this work, removal of three cedar hedge trees located near the intersection will be required.

Starting Friday, July 3, occasional lane closures will be in effect on Royal Avenue between the Royal Avenue on-ramp and McBride Boulevard for approximately one month for crews to complete median and urban node construction works.

The Columbia Street loop-ramp is currently closed and the new Columbia Street on-ramp to the stal̕əw̓asəm Bridge is planned to open in summer 2026.
To reduce traffic congestion in the Victoria Hill neighbourhood, access to East Royal Avenue will be restricted 24/7 eastbound into Victoria Hill from Royal Avenue and McBride Boulevard starting on February 26.
