The stal̕əw̓asəm Bridge, which will replace the Pattullo Bridge, will be a key connection between the communities of Surrey and New Westminster.
The stal̕əw̓asəm Bridge is a four-lane, toll-free bridge that will provide important improvements for all users, including people who are driving, cycling or walking, as well as communities on either side of the bridge. These improvements include:
- A safer crossing for all bridge users with modern, wider lanes, separated by a centre median barrier
- Dedicated walking and cycling lanes, separated from traffic by a barrier on both sides of the bridge
- Better connections to, from and near the bridge
The Pattullo Bridge will remain in use until the stal̕əw̓asəm Bridge is open to traffic. Once stal̕əw̓asəm Bridge is open, the Pattullo Bridge will be removed. Learn more about the stal̕əw̓asəm Bridge opening
